Art Lessons & Classes in Bristol South Central
Looking for creative and engaging art classes for your child? At Cygnets Art School Bristol South Central, we offer a vibrant programme of fine art classes designed for children aged five and above. From weekly after-school clubs to weekend sessions and exciting holiday workshops, there’s a class to suit every budding young artist.
Our classes provide a supportive and imaginative environment where children can express themselves through art, while building strong technical skills. We cover a wide range of media and techniques—including drawing, painting, pastels, and sculpture—to help children grow in confidence and creativity.
If you’re after something more bespoke, we also offer one-to-one tuition and private group sessions. Our talented team can even bring the art to you—ideal for birthday celebrations or tailored support with school applications and portfolios.

My Daughter (5 yr/o) LOVES these art classes! She comes out each week having used different mediums and covered different topics. Each piece of art is so beautifully thought out. I've been amazed at how many lovely teachers there are there, and how much time they spend with each child... I definitely recommend!

David Otlet
David has worked as an art and design teacher for 25 years, running two successful art departments in Bristol schools. Fine Art trained at Kingston University, he has an eclectic taste in art and has a wide range of skills across 2-dimensional and 3 dimensional materials.
David has a particular passion for improving the art skills of primary students and providing them with the opportunity to build their confidence. During his long career as a secondary art teacher he has witnessed first hand the frustrations of families who wanted more art lessons in primary education.
He was impressed by Cygnets Art School's unique approach to art classes for students. In particular the positive effect of small groups with structured and clear teaching strategies. After observing several Cygnets classes he was impressed by the children's final outcomes. These clearly showed they were developing a range of new skills while also being able to explore a range of creative and imaginative themes. He liked it so much he decided to join Cygnets and start some classes.
